Chicken wings are one of my most favourite things to make and eat, so I have a few recipes up my sleeve. These Air Fryer Turkish Style Chicken Wings are not only delicious, but so easy to make. This recipe is for the air fryer, but you can also make them in the oven or even on a barbecue!

Ingredients:
- 3kg chicken wings
- 1 whole bulb garlic
- 1 full measuring cup Greek Yoghurt
- 4-5 tbsp Turkish red pepper paste
- Olive oil
- 1.5 tbsp salt or to taste
- 1.5 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp pul biber (or any other chilli flakes to taste)
- 2 tbsp dried parsley and smoked paprika
- 1 heaped tsp dried mint
- 1 tbsp sumac
- Butter
Method:
- Mix together all of the ingredients for the marinade, except for the butter.
- Pour this onto the chicken wings and coat thoroughly.
- Leave to marinate overnight for best results or at least for 1 hour.
- Preheat your air fryer on 180C. Once heated, cook the wings in batches, in a single layer for 25-30 minutes, spraying with a little olive oil. This will depend on the size of your wings.
- After 10 minutes, turn the wings and add a knob of butter.
- Mix again after another 10 minutes, this time adding a splash of water, which will give us some sauce.
- Cook for a further 5-10 minutes. There should be sauce at the bottom of the air fryer.
- Pour the chicken wings onto a platter, making sure the sauce coats them.
- Serve with Turkish rice, salad and some Greek yoghurt.
Tips:
- You can use flats or drums of the wing or both, but as the sizes can vary, pay attention to the cooking times,
- If you cant find Turkish red pepper paste, you can use tomato puree/paste.
- If you don’t want to cook the full 3kg, you can cook some and freeze some after marinading and cook on another day.
